Definition
A federally funded financial aid program (Federal Work-Study) that provides eligible students with part-time on-campus or off-campus employment opportunities to help cover education costs. Work-study eligibility is determined by the FAFSA. Students are paid at least minimum wage, and earnings are not counted as income on the following year's FAFSA. Positions are often in campus departments, libraries, research labs, and community nonprofits.
